There’s not much to say about Peter Pepper Chilli, other than it will surprise anyone who lay their eyes on its fruit. We have noticed in the shop that these seeds are very popular with the female gender and a great source of humour amongst friends.
Peter Pepper's red, shimmering pods point downwards and are usually 6-9cm long by 2.5cm wide. You Peters out there don’t get offended by this as we’re sure you are better equipped, this is just a chilli after all. The plant generally reaches about 60cm in height and 50cm in width and it generates plenty of willy shaped chillies.
Peter Pepper Chilli/Chilli Willy/ Peter Penis chillies have a mild to medium heat level (10,000-23,000 SHU). Although most people would grow them for the novelty value, they are a really good chilli to eat. With a thick wall flesh they are great fresh, frozen and dried.
One of the most talked about chillies, the Peter Pepper was initially discovered in 1700s Eastern Tennesse America as a mutant chilli by the Alfrey family. Since then it has been successively breed to become the “chilli willy”. If you have a good sense of humour and a passion or plants we recommend that you grow this beautiful chilli.
